There are many persons who complain that the solar light is never as strong and as bright as standard light. Well, it is very difficult to sustain the power generated by a battery that contains energy stored from the rays of the sun for a long time if the lights are going to burn very brightly for a long period.
That is a reason why these lights are used in driveways and other such places where the presence of the light is more important than its intensity. However, this does not mean you cannot burn bright lights. You just cannot expect them to burn all night then.
How to overcome this problem? Well, if you make use of standard halogen bulbs, you will end up consuming a lot of power in a very short time. Of course, the intensity of the light would be satisfactory but that would just not fit your requirements. One alternative you can use is to opt for CFL lamps.
These lamps are more energy efficient as compared to halogen lamps. Another usual option is to go in for LED lights. As you would know, LED lights are designed to provide maximum efficiency at minimum cost. With the minimum most consumption of electricity, light is generated and is bright enough to be visible for a long time. In fact, there are LED lights that can last for decades at a stretch.
How can you take advantage of these lights to extract more from your solar battery? You can make use arrays or stretches of these lights. A single LED light will never be very bright. However, you can use hundreds of LED lights together and you would still consume less power as compared to a halogen lamp or a CFL lamp.
You can increase the number of lights and thereby take advantage of better illumination. Of course, the overall light will still be defused. However, this is just a question of perception. There are numerous persons who have got used to the idea of these lamps without any difficulty.
If you want lights fitted to your outset for visibility as well as for aesthetic purposes, these lights are the best possible options. They will be soft and will not strike the eye very hard. However, you will get sufficient light to see what is in front of you when you are taking your vehicle out of the garage.
