Flying ants, all of us love them. In fact, all of us would do everything just to stop them from infesting our home. Who would want his house filled with the nasty flying insects? This article will be teaching you a few tips on how you can easily get rid of flying ants and prevent them from infesting your house.
Here are the simple tips and methods that will help you get rid of the pests:
• The simplest way is by using an insect killer spray. If you do not have this at home, you can simply make use of soap and water, which is proven to work well against flying ants.
• In order to kill a tree, you must kill its roots – same thing goes with flying ants, you need to destroy its colony if you want to fully eradicate them from your home. The best way to do this is by using a mixture of honey, artificial sweetener, and borax. The honey and artificial sweetener will attract the ants and the mixture will be taken to their colony which will eventually annihilate the colony.
• You can also use diatomaceous earth, which is made from algae. Once this powder is sprinkled to the ants, they will dry up and will eventually die.
• A mixture of water, sugar, and boric acid is also proven to work against ants. Simply mix these substances, dip a cotton ball, and leave it along the ants’ trails.
• A method that is not used commonly is called electric trap. This consists of an incandescent lamp that attracts flying ants. They will be electrocuted once they have made contact with the wire that is wrapped around the bulb.
• Vinegar and water with a ratio of 1:1 is also an effective weapon to destroy these pests. The acid present in the vinegar acts as a poison to ants.
• Baking soda will also work against ants. Simply sprinkle the baking soda along the trails of the ants. This will increase the acid level inside the body of the ants and will kill them eventually.
Now that you know how to deal with these flying insects, you do not have to smash them with a folded newspaper every time you see one. These tips will help you prevent your home from being infected by flying ants easily. Smashing ants with a folded newspaper might still work, but only if you have a much lesser number of ants in your home.
